Media Bias? | The Recreational Writer

So, in reading today about the Amtrak train crash that killed one person, and critically injured at least one other, and injured others, I read of Congressmen (GOP) coming to the aid of the injured. Providing CPR to at least one of the victims. I read of a Congressman that is a Veteran, a former Medic, that not only was helping at this tragedy, but, also helped save another Congressman’s life when he was shot on a softball field by a Democrat sympathizer. ( Here he was, among other Congressmen (some were Physician’s before being Congressmen) saving, or attempting to, save lives. Possibly the life/lives of a complete stranger (details are not yet clear on who was treated by the Congressmen that helped.)

As I watched the facts become clearer, and what they believe happened, I see a radical celebrating the news. (see, or just use this search, as it is not a secret, Celebrating that someone died. Not knowing if this someone was a democrat, a republican, an independent, or simply just an American. Someone with a family, although the extent of which is not known, it is safe to say that this person was someone’s child. Dead. Killed. And a liberal radical celebrates, and claims “God is cleaning.”

What is even more appalling, is that this …. thing (I am sorry, but I cannot even call “him” a human at this point) applauding before a body is even cold, and likely before this victims family was even notified that their loved one was dead, that they would never be able to speak to them again, celebrate a birthday, celebrate any holiday, was able to say this, all the while touting on his Twitter account that he is a “talking head” for CNN.

That in itself is appalling, and casts doubt on if CNN can do it’s job effectively and without bias. But, there is more. First, CNN has completely and utterly refused to condemn what this thing said. They have completely refused  to say that he will no longer be a “talking head” for them. Could it be that CNN, Anderson Cooper, Wolf Blitzer, et al simply do not care? Could it be that they hold so much vitriol against people that have an opposing view, that they are willing to turn a blind eye to comments so repulsive?

It certainly seems that way.

"We live in an era of too much information. If you don't read the newspaper, you're uninformed. If you do read it, you're misinformed. In our society, now it's just first — who cares, get it out there. We don't care who it hurts. We don't care who we destroy. We don't care if it's true. Just say it, sell it. Anything you practice you'll get good at — including BS." - Denzel Washington

If you visit, there is absolutely nothing on their home page about the tragic accident. Nothing. Nada. No link. Not even a footnote. Does their vitriol for conservatives, and those with opposing views, run so deep, that they care not even about the innocent person that lost their life? The headline article is why a memo that details the corrupted use of spying on American’s is “not a partisan issue” and arguing that it should not be released. I wonder why? There’s an article about a porn star that “taught a law class” on a late night liberal talk show. There’s a big article about Australian secrets hidden in some furniture. There’s an article, and more than likely a sentimental piece (I cannot be certain, as I do not give the time of day to a child pornographer), on an actor that was caught with more than 50,000 images of child pornography, who killed himself.

But is there an article on this person that died doing his job? Probably not.

They did, however, manage to have an article on how “movie stars” (elites) earned less than Star Wars. Not sure what, in this day in age, that has to do with the cost of tea in China, but it is out there. Main page on CNN.

This is not the first time that CNN has turned a blind eye to obvious bias and complete disregard for human life affected by tragedy. One of their “hosts” actually said that “God downgraded” a hurricane, so that there could be more news coverage about President Trump (see I can find no record of CNN every condemning or apologizing about that.

It is deeply troubling that a supposed news organization, not only picks and chooses what facts they choose to disclose (not wanting a memo about Governmental abuse of power to be released to the very people that the Government is supposed  to report to) but they, in all apparentness, condone mocking the dead. Taking the life that someone lost, and ignoring it. And allowing “contributors” to state such repulsive rants with full immunity. Their own “hosts” apparently have that same full immunity. Facts are, at best, a footnote.

It seems that CNN has become more concerned with “turning up dirt”, that they have forgotten that they are supposed to be non-partisan journalists. They are supposed to write stories based on fact, not shadowy, unknown, and uncorroborated “sources.”

It certainly seems to me, someone who at least attempts to give the benefit of a doubt, and actually research the facts, in cases of Bills the actual text, etc., someone that tries to withhold judgement until all facts are presented, that CNN is not about reporting what is actually and factually happening. To me, they have lost credibility. All credibility. I no longer watch CNN. To be fair, I no longer, for the most part, read any news organization. But, I certainly do not follow CNN.

I am not saying that they should fawn over President Trump (as they obviously did the last eight years over President Obama and continues to over Hillary Clinton, regardless of the amount of evidence that is surfacing on the Clinton corruption (fyi, if I end up “committing suicide”, be suspicious)), but I do expect, as supposed unbiased journalists, to have facts reported. Not suspicions. And not paid information from a Democrat backer.

In my opinion CNN, among other news outlets, should take a deep internal look at what they are reporting, why they are reporting, and what is actually confirmed fact, not shadowy fifth hand supposed information.

CNN, I suggest you read the quote above, take a step back, and do a tremendous amount of soul searching. To me, CNN has become irrelevant.
